Our Story

Built for the people who show up
with intention.

Gotham wasn't born from a trend. It was built because Chicago deserved a place that doesn't force you to choose between a serious coffee program and a serious bar program — and then make you pick one.

We opened our doors at 201 N Clark St with a simple belief: that the best spaces are the ones that earn their atmosphere. Every detail — from the espresso machine we imported from Milan to the whiskey selection that changes with the seasons — was chosen with that same standard.

This is a neighborhood staple with a city-wide point of view. Come for the single-origin pour-over. Stay for the smoked old fashioned. Leave knowing exactly where you want to be next time.

The Space

We built Gotham for the people who need a table that isn't wobbly, an outlet within arm's reach, and a barista who knows their name after two visits. During the day, the lighting is bright, the Wi-Fi is fast, and the music sits at exactly the volume that lets you think.

As the evening comes in, the space shifts. The lights lower. The playlist deepens. The bar seats fill with people who came for one drink and stayed for the conversation. It's the same room. Different rhythm.
